  • INSTALLATION OPTIONS RESIN BOUND VS BONDED

    RESIN BOUND

With Resin bound surfacing the aggregate is mixed or bound within the resin or Polyurethane. There is a mixture of two different sized aggregates, which are mixed in a force action mixer (i.e. 1-3, 2-5, 3-6 mm options), which strengthens the matrix. The application is then finished to a smooth surface offering an impeccable finish ascetically pleasing with a long lifecycle. The required minimum depth is 18mm with an edge detail to support the matrix, Resin Bonded finishes offer a slip resistant decorative surface, which is highly water permeable.

    RESIN BONDED

Resin bonded surfacing is often referred to as a scatter system which provides texture and the appearance of loose gravel. This is completed by spreading a layer of pure resin or Polyurethane on the surface and hand scattering aggregates on the top. This type of install is typically 1mm to 2mm or to the size of the aggregate being installed. This application leaves the client with a rough, textured finish and high friction surface.
